Car key replacement in Stuttgart from 89 €
Short answer: a plain metal copy costs from 89 €, a remote key from 119 €, a transponder key with immobiliser from 149 € and a flip key from 169 €. Keyless-Go keys are quoted individually. Bring the vehicle registration and your ID, because without proof that the car is yours we will not cut a key. Cutting and coding happen in our own workshop at Haußmannstraße 122B, no appointment needed.

Why a car key costs more than a house key
A modern car key is not a piece of metal. Most carry a transponder that talks to the immobiliser, and many add a remote board for central locking. Cutting the blade is the easy half. The key then has to be coded to your specific vehicle, and that coding is what the price reflects. We do both here rather than sending the work out.
What you need to bring
- The vehicle registration document (Fahrzeugschein, Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I).
- Your ID or passport.
- If you have one, an existing working key. It usually makes the job simpler and cheaper.
If the name on the registration is not yours, bring something that connects you to the vehicle: a leasing contract, a company authorisation, or the owner in person. We check this every time and we do not make exceptions. It is the reason you can trust that nobody else had a key made for your car either.
Lost the only key you had?
That is solvable, it just takes longer and costs more, because the key has to be created from the vehicle data rather than copied. Call before you have the car towed anywhere: depending on the make and year, we can often work at the vehicle. Send the registration and a photo of the lost key's twin, if one exists, by WhatsApp, and we will tell you what is possible and what it costs.

Which brands
All common brands, from VW, Audi, Škoda and Seat through Mercedes, BMW and Opel to Ford, Renault, Peugeot, Fiat, Toyota and the Asian makes. Porsche and some newer Keyless systems are quoted individually because the coding route differs. If you are not sure, call with the registration in front of you and we will check the blank and the coding before you drive over.
Frequently asked questions
My remote stopped working. Is the key broken?
Usually it is the battery, and that is a cheap fix. If a new battery does not help, the board or the transponder may have failed, or the key simply needs re-syncing with the car. We check in that order rather than selling you a new key first.
Can you come to me if the car is stuck somewhere?
For opening a locked car, yes, we come out. For cutting and coding a new key the workshop is usually the better place because the equipment is here.
Is a copy from you as good as one from the dealer?
The blank and the coding are the same standard; what differs is usually the price and how long you wait. For some newer models the manufacturer restricts key supply, and in those cases the dealer is the only route. We say so rather than experimenting on your car.
I locked the key inside the car.
